We’re increasing our lunch packing quota on Friday night!  Meet at New Harvest Christian Church, 3540 Seaman Road in Oregon at 6 PM.  We’re going to be packing some lunches for our regular Saturday morning picnic with the unhoused, as well as some extras for the tornado victims and relief workers.

What To Bring:

Bread
Chips
Cookies
Brown Paper Lunch Bags
Napkins
Plastic sandwich baggies
Apples
Granola bars
Trail mix
Gatorade
Bottled Water

IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA

We occasionally get a call from someone asking if we can bring some food to them. We are looking for volunteers willing to make some food/supply deliveries.  If you are local and could be called relatively “on the spot”, please e-mail Tana your name and number.
GRILL-OUTS

The “grill outs” in Millbury and Moline were a huge success!  It really lifted people’s spirits.  We intend to organize some more, and possibly in Genoa as well.  Stay tuned for details.  If you have a grill and are willing to transport it somewhere, please contact Tana so she can add you to the “Grill out” list.
GROCERY DISTRIBUTION

We are formulating a plan on how to get groceries to people once they get back in their homes, etc.  We will likely be asking for food drives and toiletries drives.  In fact, if you can organize one with your employer, church, or wherever, go ahead and get started!  Want specific items we could use?  Please email Tana.

Thank you again for all you do!

Our neighbors really enjoyed the cookout. It was really helpful for all those working hard to clean up.

  3. Moe Agosti says:

    Hello,
I am sales associate with Ashley Furniture and Homestore. I am trying to put a campaign together to offer some very special discouints to the victims of the tornado. We would love to get involved with some of the relief efforts and would like some information and dates on where help is needed.
    Thanks,
    Moe Agosti

    Hi Moe -
We already took our mobile out into Lake Township and may do so again; however, a lot of the affected people did not come. In order to get in touch with everyone, you may want to call United Way Wood County and ask for Mike George – he is in charge of the Long Term Recovery Committee and would know how to get the information in the right hands.
    Thanks for your generosity!
